 Queen Anne's revenge

Originally named Concord, the vessel was built by Britain in 1710, but captured by the French a year later. The ship was modified to hold more cargo and renamed La Concorde. The slave-ship was captured again by the pirate Captain Benjamin Hornigold on November 28, 1717 near the island of Martinique. Hornigold turned the ship over to one of his pirates - Edward Teach, who was later known as Blackbeard, and made him captain. Blackbeard converted La Concorde into his flagship, adding 20 guns and renaming her the Queen Anne's Revenge. With it he ranged the west coast of Africa and the Caribbean, attacking British, Dutch and Portuguese ships.

Mouse Lemur

Deep in the forests of Madagascar German scientists have discovered three new species of the world's smallest primate, the mouse lemur.

The creatures are the tiniest primates in the world, and therefore the smallest relatives in a biological order that also includes humans.

 Mini 1978 Clubman

'Meteorite' kills nomads

08/02/2007

New Delhi - A suspected meteorite killed two nomads and injured five others on Thursday in the northern Indian desert state of Rajasthan, a report said.

Police told the Press Trust of India news agency that the group of nomads were sitting in a field in Rajasthan's Bundi district when an "unknown flying object", thought to be a meteorite, hit the ground and exploded, leaving behind a crater.

Senior police and administrative officials have rushed to the scene to investigate the incident, the report said, adding that a forensic science team had also been called in.
